About RateYourTaxi
RateYourTaxi is an independent, not-for-profit public interest platform providing trust ratings for taxi and private hire operators across the United Kingdom.
Our Mission
We believe passengers deserve clear, honest information about the taxi and private hire operators they use. RateYourTaxi was built to fill a gap: there was no independent, evidence-based rating platform serving the UK taxi industry.
We are not a complaints service. We are not affiliated with any licensing authority, trade body, or operator. We have no commercial relationships with any company we rate. Our only obligation is to the travelling public.
How We Operate
All trust ratings are assessed by our editorial team against published criteria. We do not accept advertising, sponsored placements, or subscription fees from operators. Our platform is funded on a not-for-profit basis.
We publish only what we can evidence. We give every operator the opportunity to respond. We update ratings when new information comes to light. We make mistakes occasionally, and we correct them.
